Why organic?

I would like to share them with you some important resins why you should consume organic foods. This resins prove how going organic will benefit not only your health, but also our planet. The first one is that organic products are higher in nutrients than traditional products. Studies show that organic produce are higher in vitamin C, antioxidants (I have linked here some interesting information abut antioxidants) and the minerals calcium, iron, chromium, and magnesium. Organic foods are also free of neurotoxins. Toxins can be damaging to brain and nerve cells. Organic produces are also supportive of growing children's brains and bodies. I is better to feed kids organic produces because they don't contain toxins, kids brains and bodies are much more susceptible to toxins than adults.

When you consume organic produce you are consuming real food, not pesticide factories. Eighteen percent of all genetically-modified seeds are engineered to produce their own pesticides. Research shows that these seeds may continue producing pesticides inside your body once you've eaten the food grown from them! Foods that are actually pesticide factories.....No thanks. The US Environmental Protection Agency estimates that pesticides pollute the primary drinking source for half of American population. Organic Farming is the best solution to the problem. Buying organic
helps reduce pollution in our droning water.  Organic food is earth friendly. When big businesses keep their hands out of it. Organic foods help insure independent family farms can create a livelihood. To me it is like the domestic version of fair trade. Overall  organic food simply rase better than the pesticide-grown one.

Organic food is not exposed to gas-ripening like some non-organic fruits and vegetables. Organic
farms are also safe for farm workers. research at the Harvard School of public health found a 70 percent increase in parkinson's disease among people exposed to pesticides. Choosing organic foods means that more people will be able to work without incurring the higher potential health risk of Parkinson's or other illnesses. Even both commonly used amounts of pesticides, wildlife is being harmed by exposure to pesticides. Organic food supports wildlife habitats. In addition eating organic may reduce your cancer risk. The EPS considers 60% of herbicides, 90% of fungicides, and 30%of insecticides potentially cancer-causing. It is reasonable to think that the rapidly rates of cancer are at least partly linked to the use of these carcinogenic pesticides. Choosing organic meant lessens your exposure to antibiotics, synthetic hormones, and drugs that find their way into the animal and ultimately into you. Genetically-modified food makes up 80% of the average persons food consumption. Organic food is tried and tested. I hope that after reading this you will be some what motivated to start consuming organic products. Now that you know some of the resins why you should code organic food over genetically-modified food.

MSG Mice!

Did you know that no strain of rat or mice is naturally obese? So…scientists have to “create” them. They make these morbidly obese creatures by injecting them with monosodium glutamate (MSG) when they are first born. The MSG triples the amount of insulin the pancreas creates, causing rats to become obese. It also causes them to crave carbohydrates (sugars) rather than proteins, and they eventually end up with metabolic syndrome on top of obesity, which results in a leptin insensitivity. Leptin is the “lookout hormone” which is secreted by fat cells; it is the gatekeeper of fat metabolism, monitoring how much energy an organism takes in, maintaining the energy balance in the body, and regulating hunger. Without leptin sensitivity, a person will eat and eat and eat without feeling satisfied. It has been shown that you can produce leptin insensitivity very easily with MSG.
Unfortunately, MSG is often disguised under other names, thus you may not be able to detect it in a list of ingredients. Some synonyms for MSG are:
• “Glutamate Textured Protein”
• “Glutamic Acid Yeast Extract”
• “Gelatin Yeast Nutrient”
• “Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein”
• “Autolyzed Yeast”
• “Hydrolyzed Soy Protein”
• “Glutamate”
• “Torula Yeast”
• “Protein Isolate”
• “Flavor Enhancer”
They hide MSG under many different names in order to fool those who catch on. Food companies learned that MSG could increase the flavor and aroma and enhance acceptability of commercial food products, so it is doubtful that they will ever quit using this brain killing additive to our food supply. People who consume large amounts of soy products have high incidences of dementia and brain atrophy.
Take a quick trip to your kitchen and check the pantry and the fridge. You will realize that MSG is in everything: soups, the chips, the ramen, the hamburger helper, the gravy, the sauces, the salad dressings, the corn oil, the broth, and so on. All the more reason to eat fresh, unprocessed foods.

Organic Products

I know that eating clean can get really expensive. Organic products are usually pricier than non organic products.I came across this website that called Environment Working Group. Here you can find a list of products that are safe to buy non organic called the clean 15 list. There is also a list called dirty dozen those are products you want to buy at an organic super market.

By no means am i trying to say to no eat fruits or veggies if they are not organic. It would be alto worse to not intake any fruits and veggies at all. Not in-taking any would have a worse effect than in-taking them with pesticides. How ever there are a lot of important benefits to consuming organic products. the most important to me is avoiding pesticides.

Let me tell you a few reasons why you should avoid pesticides. Pesticides are toxic, they are designed to kill insects, plants and fungi. Accordion to research pesticides put peoples heath in danger. They are linked to cancer and hormone disruption. They have also been proven to cause skin, lung and eye irritation. This is why it is important to try to consume more organic foods.

Organic products contain fewer pesticides. Organic Food is usually fresher because it doesn't  contain any of the preservatives that make it last longer. With the consumption of organic products not only are you keeping your body healthy you are also helping the environment. Organic arming practices reduce pollution, conserve water reduce soil erosion, and use less energy. Farming without pesticides is also better for nearby birds and small animals as well as the people who harvest our foods.

I mention earlier that consuming organic foods can be a bit more pricey; however, if you think about it in the long run it might end up saving you some money. How? well if you make the commitment to eat organic foods you will eat at restaurants less often. You'll also pack your lunch more often than not and eat cook from scratch.

The eating organic trend is becoming more popular according to the Organic Trade Association, 78 percent of American families purchase organic foods. This percentage is increasing as more consumer are becoming aware of the many health benefits conferred by organic foods. Now days there are platy of markets that sell organic products. For example here is the Portland area we have Trader Joe's. Trader Joe's is my persona favorite everything there is organic and affordable. It is a small super market compared to others, but the quality of their products is great.Trader Joe's also offers a free cell phone app in this application you can find tasting note which are reviews that customers post about their products, You can also find deleted nutritional information and store location. I have this app on my iPhone and i love it it comes in handy i have disturber alto of new products trough peoples taste notes.  There is also other stores like New seasons and whole foods i am not very familiar with this st

Steroids, Anitbiotics, Sprays. Are food manufactures killing us?

In toady's society it is no longer about quality its all about quantity. Even when it comes to food production. Food manufactures are putting all kinds of antibiotics and pesticides to increases the growth of everything fruits vegetables meats. 70 percent of the calories we intake come from highly processed foods. Much of the food that is supplied today is not safe. I am very interested in this topic because i have noticed that a lot cheeper to eat unhealthy than it is to eat healthy. Industrial food techniques are so successful they're making us overweight and unhealthy. Most people don't know that MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) is in most of the the pressed foods we consume. Manufacturers use it because it is what makes there food taste so good, it makes it taste so good that it becomes addicting and you can't stop eating it. Pretty smart marker isn't it.

You may be wondering what MSG, is well let me tell you. MSG was introduced over fifty years ago. It is a flavorless crystalline that has no flavor of its own but can enhances the flavor of certain foods that is mixed with. It is also used as a meat tenderizer. MSG has been fund to be linked to many disorders like obesity, high blood pressure, migraines and type II diabetes. MSG is something we most avoid putting in to our bodies if we want to live a long healthy life.

Research Ideas

I am tourn between two very different topics of research. One being how our diet affects our levels of energy and our emotions. More specifically what are the benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle. The other topic I'm interested in researching is economics. I want to compare Neoclassical economic theory and the Kynesiam economics theory.

Freakonomics

I love this book it is honestly the best book I have ever read I'm not done with it but I'm close the being done. I am so amazed at the way it is written the Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner did an amazing job . It is one of those books you learn from reading and when i say learn i mean like useful information. For example in chapter one, Freakonomics demonstrates how incentives affect human behavior.  The book explains economics is the study of incentives which are ways to get people to do good rather than bad things. The book states that economists love to manipulate incentives to try to affect human behavior, but sometimes the incentive will have unintended consequences.

get the guy

I have bee putting off writing a blog about this book because i really don't like it. I i didn't like the fist chapter i liked the second chapter and from there it was all bad again i continued reading in the hopes that it would get better but  didn't. It was a funny book i also feel like it was well written. It was just the content of the book that i didn't agree with maybe im just old fashion and im not in to party's and dating all this guys. I mean im 20 years old and i have only had one boyfriend and his still my boyfriend. No matter what with dating its always the same you will ether marry the person or brake up with them. No matter how many boys you date is is always going to be the same thing.

Would i recommend this book sure if your way of thinking is like Matthews that the more boys you date the better. If this are your believes then yes go for it you will love it,but if you more old fashion like me then don't read it you will be sitting there just thinking this writer is out of his mind.

I have to give the writes some credit tho he does a good job of laying things dun step by step. For people that agree with his theory it will be easy to fallow his steps. Because in addition to the book he provides videos o help you become a more social girl.

Get The Guy

This book was recommended to me by a very close friend. Stephen Hussey and Matthew Hussey are the writers of this book. When mi friend told me about it a immediately wanted to read this book. I know most of us girls would like to know how boys think and what goes through there minds. This book is supposed to be about the why guys think and also give girls some tips on how to be a strong independent women which to me is funny that two guys are giving girls advice on how to be. You don't see that very often it is usually the other way around. I have to say that i totally don't agree with the things they stated in the first chapter. They said we have to meet at least five guys a week and that we should be trying to talk to at least two guys per day. There is NO WAY I'm going to do that I'm not in that much of a hurry to find Prince Charming. its not like i need one i already have boyfriend i guess the reason why I'm reading this book to find out what my boyfriend is thinking half of the time and how boys feel about relationships.  after reading the first chapter i wanted to put the book away and never read it. There is no way girls need to be putting them selfs out there to meet all this guys in m eyes that just makes us look desperate; however thats Matthews advice for finding the right guy. i decided to give the book a second chance and continued to ready chapter two. This chapter was way better it was funny and it had good tip. it stated that girls should be independent strong as an individual and have their own life. They should make men feel like they are the best thing that ever happened to them.

Silence

Cole is such a gentleman all trout the book. He really makes Oakley feel special thats how all men should treat us women. I really like what Natasha does half way trough the book by the way Natasha Preston is the Author of this book. She makes a drastic change it is no longer Oakley telling the story now Cole is the one telling the story. I love the fact that even though there was a drastic change the book is so well written that i knew right away what was going on i didn't get get lost. Also Natasha chose the perfect moment to make this change she did it right after Cole asked Oakley to be his girlfriend. I can see why she did it she really whats the audience to see that Coles feelings towards Oakley are really true and Oakley isn't just making things up. The hole time Oakley was telling the story it sounded like she was just guessing how Cole felt about her and all her guesses where right. However now that Cole is telling the story and he is the one saying how he feels. This is reinsuring the audience that his feelings are real.

Silence

finally know why I'm enjoying this book so much. Im sure its the way this book is written. The paragraphs are about 10 long and just the way she rights over all makes me feel like shes actually talking to me like shes telling me this story in person. I didn't really think it would be because of that in till Mary Chase brought it up during class................

I really like the way Cole is with Oakley, he loves her for who she is and even though Oakley refuses to go to the doctor he doesn't pressure there to do it. I understand Cole he doesn't need her to talk to love her. Its probably not exactly the same, but it happens to me with my horse Minnie she is my best friend i tell her everything. People sometimes think im crazy because i talk to her they say she cant understand you why do you talk to her. Mennie can understand met perfectly she actually talks back to me with out an actual word coming out of her. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you don't need to actually talk in order to say something expressions say a lot even more than words sometimes. However, there are days when i do wish my horse could talk, but that doesn't change anything i sill love her the same.................... I think this is how Cole feels about Oakley not talking.

Silence

OMG! this book gets better every time . It turns out Oakley doesn't talk not because she cant talk but she chooses not to talk. There is some statements she makes that make me think her dad Max is the reason why she doesn't talk. What is it that he did to her ?. that's what i want to know!

Max is really shady, he acts like a caring father at least that's what i thought about him before Oakley started saying he was a lair.........

No one knows what Max did to Oakley, but i really want to find out. I feel like Oakley is defiantly traumatized or something like that. She wont even text people back on her phone. she is perfectly capable of doing it. she wont even text Cole back and even though they are not officially dating yet. I pretty much consider them girlfriend and boyfriend.

Silence

Oakley is a 16 year old girl who can't talk she lost her voice when she was five years old. Ever sens she became really shy and insecure about her self. I don't blame her i would be too if people were making fun of me all the time. High school is hard for every one i'm sure we all went  though it. Its a time when all we want is to fit in and some times we forget our true identity.

Cole is Oakley only fiend his known Oakley his hole life even before she lost her voice. He genuinely cares for Oakley. I really like Cole his so nice and caring. His always worried about Oakley even though Oakley thinks his just nice to her because he feels sorry for her. No matter what he always protects Oakley he puts her before anything and everything.

I'm really enjoying reading this book i started and i couldn't stop reading. I can tell that Cole loves Oakley like more than just a friend he just hasn't told her yet.

Culture Jam - Winter

This part of the book is honestly boring. I felt like i was sitting in my highs school history class as i was reading it. Kalle talked alto about how it used to be in america before media took over. I'm sure it was much different than it is now; however,  people my age didn't get to experience that. We were born in to this media disaster as he calls it. We didn't chose to live like this this is all we know. We were born in to all this. All the commercials promoting different brands. All the magazines with skinny models that makes think that how a pretty girl should be skinny and toll.

Kalle states that america is now governed by corporations and not buy people, i guess his point is that we are not free any more. we are not a free country we just pretend to be a free country.

Culture Jam - Autumn

Culture jam is divided in to tree sections the first section is Autumn. As i started reading this section of the book the first thigh that came to my mined was one of my new year resolution. My number one resolution for 2014 was to enjoy the real world. The more i read the more i realized how i really need to work on enjoying the real world and the little things that happen weal we are to busy taxing or on some kind of social media. We interact with our Friends on facebook or twitter than we do in real life. the writer mentions that we no longer live in the real life we live in a virtual life. That is so true specially with young people. In my case i feel like sometimes i worry about things i shouldn't. For example, if i see something beautiful the first thing i do is take out my phone and take a picture of it, that alone takes me around five minutes to get a good picture. After that i look for the right filter or effect that makes my picture look perfect then i post it up on instagram. That entire process takes me about 15 minutes in those 15 minutes i totally missed the beauty of the moment, so i completely understand the massage that the writer is trying to send in this section.

In this section Kalle also talks about how mass media controls our minds. i have never thought about it, but its true. I had a duh moment half way trough the section when Kalle talks about the show "Americas funniest home videos." why do we laugh of the at this videos when the things that happen to the people on the videos are things that hurt them that might even result in an injury, but yet me laugh instead of feeling sorry for them. this just proves how culture is no longer shape by nature but by electronic mass media. We want to be skinny because models are skinny. We want that new car because our favorite actor has it. You don't see kids out playing any more because most of them are inside playing video games. I agree with Kalle so far we are no longer connected with nature we are more connected with the Media.

Culture Jam

This book is very interesting I just started reading it and I I'm totally hooked. It talks about how America has turned in to a brand. It refers to Culture Jam as a movement that will change the ways we interact with the mass media. Kalle Lasn the writer is determined to make us the readers change the way we see the world. I'm not sure yet if it will change the way in see things, but I guess I will find out as I read this book. For what I have read I can tell his thesis is "America is no longer a country but a multimillion brand." That is just the introduction.
