Silence
Oakley is a 16 year old girl who can't talk she lost her voice when she was five years old. Ever sens she became really shy and insecure about her self. I don't blame her i would be too if people were making fun of me all the time. High school is hard for every one i'm sure we all went though it. Its a time when all we want is to fit in and some times we forget our true identity.
Cole is Oakley only fiend his known Oakley his hole life even before she lost her voice. He genuinely cares for Oakley. I really like Cole his so nice and caring. His always worried about Oakley even though Oakley thinks his just nice to her because he feels sorry for her. No matter what he always protects Oakley he puts her before anything and everything.
I'm really enjoying reading this book i started and i couldn't stop reading. I can tell that Cole loves Oakley like more than just a friend he just hasn't told her yet.

Culture Jam - Winter
This part of the book is honestly boring. I felt like i was sitting in my highs school history class as i was reading it. Kalle talked alto about how it used to be in america before media took over. I'm sure it was much different than it is now; however, people my age didn't get to experience that. We were born in to this media disaster as he calls it. We didn't chose to live like this this is all we know. We were born in to all this. All the commercials promoting different brands. All the magazines with skinny models that makes think that how a pretty girl should be skinny and toll.
Kalle states that america is now governed by corporations and not buy people, i guess his point is that we are not free any more. we are not a free country we just pretend to be a free country.

Culture Jam - Autumn
Culture jam is divided in to tree sections the first section is Autumn. As i started reading this section of the book the first thigh that came to my mined was one of my new year resolution. My number one resolution for 2014 was to enjoy the real world. The more i read the more i realized how i really need to work on enjoying the real world and the little things that happen weal we are to busy taxing or on some kind of social media. We interact with our Friends on facebook or twitter than we do in real life. the writer mentions that we no longer live in the real life we live in a virtual life. That is so true specially with young people. In my case i feel like sometimes i worry about things i shouldn't. For example, if i see something beautiful the first thing i do is take out my phone and take a picture of it, that alone takes me around five minutes to get a good picture. After that i look for the right filter or effect that makes my picture look perfect then i post it up on instagram. That entire process takes me about 15 minutes in those 15 minutes i totally missed the beauty of the moment, so i completely understand the massage that the writer is trying to send in this section.
In this section Kalle also talks about how mass media controls our minds. i have never thought about it, but its true. I had a duh moment half way trough the section when Kalle talks about the show "Americas funniest home videos." why do we laugh of the at this videos when the things that happen to the people on the videos are things that hurt them that might even result in an injury, but yet me laugh instead of feeling sorry for them. this just proves how culture is no longer shape by nature but by electronic mass media. We want to be skinny because models are skinny. We want that new car because our favorite actor has it. You don't see kids out playing any more because most of them are inside playing video games. I agree with Kalle so far we are no longer connected with nature we are more connected with the Media.

Culture Jam
This book is very interesting I just started reading it and I I'm totally hooked. It talks about how America has turned in to a brand. It refers to Culture Jam as a movement that will change the ways we interact with the mass media. Kalle Lasn the writer is determined to make us the readers change the way we see the world. I'm not sure yet if it will change the way in see things, but I guess I will find out as I read this book. For what I have read I can tell his thesis is "America is no longer a country but a multimillion brand." That is just the introduction.
